JOBA COULD BE ATLANTA BOUND

This is in the early stages, but it's been floated with whispers over the last 48 hours and now it's being revealed that the Atlanta Braves are in fact interested in our own Joba Chamberlain.  According to George King III and Dan Martin of the New York Post, the Braves have been watching Joba and the San Francisco Giants have been watching Joba "exclusively".  The Post (HERE) writes:

"Braves scout Jim Fregosi watched Chamberlain pitch a scoreless inning Friday night in Baltimore, when his fastball was clocked in the mid-90s.

The Giants sent scout Lee Elder to Target Field for last night’s Twins-Yankees game exclusively to watch Chamberlain. He posted another scoreless frame but walked and hit a batter."

Oh don't get all sentimental now! Plenty of us wanted to drive Joba out of town for weeks now.  Suddenly we see that other teams are interested and I know what's about to happen, you're going to wonder "Well, should we part with Joba?"

Listen, baseball is a business. If the Braves or the Giants are serious, and they offer up someone good, you bite.  If not, you hold Joba back and hope he contributes for us until he becomes a free agent.  Either way, this is a win, win.

When we have more on this, of course we will let you know.
