REPORT: CUBS WIN BIDDING FOR JORGE SOLER

(pictured:  Jorge Soler)

The Cubs won the bidding for Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports on Twitter.  Reports are the deal is in excess of $30-million.

As we wrote earlier on BYB, the Yankees were among a handful of MLB teams who were interested in Soler.  But it appears the Cubs came up with the most enticing offer/bid for the Cuban defector.  Soler was an up-and-coming power hitter in Cuba before leaving the country.
