DAVID CONE STEPS UP FOR CHARITY

Everybody's doing their part pitching in to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  We've written about it extensively here at Bleeding Yankee Blue and we're just trying to get the word out, it's important.

David Cone is now getting into the mix. On Thursday, November 15, 2012, Coney will be a guest bartender at Foley’s NY Pub & Restaurant (18 W. 33rd St.) He'll be joined by Fox 5 sportscaster Duke Castiglione.

Foley’s Pub will donate 100% of its sales from 6 pm to midnight, including proceeds from the drinks that David and Duke pour.  In addition, all of David's "tips" will go to the cause.

Shaun Clancy, the owner of Foley's pub says: “Many friends and customers are suffering because of Hurricane Sandy.  Seeing the devastation in Staten Island, The Rockaways, Long Island and New Jersey, I wanted to do something to make a difference.  We reached out to David Cone, and he jumped at the opportunity to help.”

Cone says: "Although we will have fun at Foley's, we are all trying to help a serious cause. I invite all my friends in New York -- Mets fans and Yankees fans alike -- to come out and support this effort to help some of our neighbors who are in great need right now."

If you can get over to Foley's on November 15th, do it!
