WHY YOU WANT JOHNNY BRAVO HOME IN THE BRONX

So we conducted a poll at Bleeding Yankee Blue and luckily, you guys voted. There's nothing worse when do you a poll and people don't show up. You showed up and we're thankful. Johnny Damon should be thankful too... you like him, you really like him! An overwhelming amount of people voted for Johnny Bravo and usually BYB readers are right... so let's hope you're right about Damon coming back to the Bronx. Let's analyze the poll:Wow, of the 206 people that voted, 50% of you want to see Johnny Damon back in pinstripes cranking out maybe 18 home runs this season into Damon's Deck. You also like him because of his speed and because your familiar and he knows how to be a Yankee. That's what makes it easy about Damon.

In second place with 19% of the vote came Raul Ibanez, a 39 year old who's always had decent success at the plate and a nice career as well. Last season he cranked out 20 home runs and there isn't much of a doubt he can't do that again, he's kind of consistent. He can also play the outfield. Plus, the Yanks have been connected to him over the past few weeks. Read about that HERE.The next guy was a guy that I actually expected higher in the polling than Ibanez, that was Hideki Matsui. Look we all love Matsui, but it doesn't appear he's in the running, we only had a glimpse of talk about him and then it sort of went away. I am a huge Matsui fan and I'd love to see him back, but let's face facts, Godzilla was playing in Japan for years before he came to the Yankees. Yes, he can still hit home runs, but not much else. Yes, I would bring him back, but there aren't options for Matsui I'm afraid...limited outfield and limited speed.

Both Manny Ramirez and Vladimir Guerrero received a tied of 5% of the vote each. Vlad is a great hitter, but it's the end. He may be able to hit, but there's not question is much older and the Yankees had their opportunity years ago to try and get him, HERE but they passed. I'd say now isn't the best time to snatch him up.Manny, while it would have been fun to see in him the Bronx being a Washington Heights kid, I don't think he's a fit. Plus, he disappointed me when he told to the world he wanted to be a role model for kids...years after he already was (Read WHY YOU WERE ALWAYS A ROLE MODEL MANNY). Lead by example Manny... you lost my vote.

So yeah, we had huge success with this poll and we'll do more. No doubt the Yankees are trying to work something out to free up some money to throw out one of these guys and for me and plenty of BYB readers, it appears you want to see Damon back. Let's hope you're right... it could be a fun reunion.
