The Chicago Tribune has a piece about Andy Pettitte and his start today for Scranton
Wilkes-Barre. The game will be against Pawtucket. What I was impressed
with though is their kind words toward Andy Pettitte and guys like
Jeter, Posada and Rivera.
Says the Trib: "Along with shortstop Derek Jeter, catcher Jorge Posada and fellow pitcher Mariano Rivera, Mr.
Pettitte is considered a Yankees legend. He is one of four players to
be a member of each of New York's five World Series championship teams
between 1996 and 2009." Finally, our guys getting national credit from publications other than the New York Sports media calling then "Yankees legends." Gotta love it. Read it all HERE.
The fact of the matter is, some suspect that with everything going on
with the Yankees rotation, Freddy Garcia going to the pen and Phil Hughes not pitching too well, Pettitte could be ready to hit the big
team next week. Girardi was asked about Pettitte, read HERE... Joe said this:
"I think you have to wait and see what he does tomorrow... He should be able to give us a number of pitches, we'll see how he bounces back after throwing the 90-plus the last time, and then we'll make a decision."
We will see, stay tuned.
