WHY JETER IS BACK

It's always a better feeling for me when my favorite team beats the crap out of the opposing team rather than a nail biter. Why? Because in my opinion, beating the other team senseless means my Yankees are clicking and everything is moving smoothly. Many would suggest that a contest like that is lopsided and an un-fun ball game. I disagree. Close games give me a stomach ache and put me on edge. Blowouts make me happy, especially when my Yankees win.(photo: Getty)
The Yankees blew out the Rangers today and it was more than just a win, it was a Series win, my favorite kind of win and it was also a Jeter win. Derek Jeter was 4-6 today with 2 homeruns. Yesterday when I suggested that yesterday's double could be the end of Jeter's "hitter's block", I didn't expect it to come so soon. Read WHY COLON GETS A PASS. That being said, I'm thrilled that he finally broke out. Good for you Jeet, shut up the haters.(photo: Getty)
Granderson is as hot as a player can get this year, 3 for 4 with his 11th home run of the season. Truly amazing. If Grandy doesn't get to go to the All-Star game, I'd be shocked. Whatever he did with Long is truly working and I'm happy to have that bat in the lineup.

What can you say about Francisco Cervelli but, good for you kid. His first career Grand Slam and 4 RBIs later, when asked about it, he said he did it for his mother. If that's not class, I don't know what is. Bottom Line, Cervelli has pride for the pinstripes but he is not a great hitter, so that grand slam was huge. That being said, his heart makes fans just love him and as far as I'm concerned, his heart should keep him there for a while, despite the trade rumor talk.CC Sabathia struggled today, but you'd never know it because of the great offense. The last 2 starts I did not love the way CC pitched. The one positive is he is a veteran and a veteran like CC keeps your team in the game, no matter what. He did that with the Tigers, but the trouble was the Yankees didn't score. Today, the Yankees scored runs so it's a good thing for CC. I'm hoping he will snap out of this funk, but at the same time, there isn't antoher guy I'd want on the mound.

Final Score today: Yankees 12 - Rangers 5. Day off for New York tomorrow. Good, we all need a rest and to regroup. Good win Yankees, and great job Derek.
