ESPN writes:
"...left-hander Jordan Montgomery will have Tommy John surgery to fix an elbow injury that has kept him out of action since early May. The surgery will be done Thursday, the team announced.
Montgomery exited a May 1 start against the Houston Astros after throwing just seven pitches. The team diagnosed him with a flexor strain in his elbow and originally said he would miss six to eight weeks."
While Tommy John surgery is more common these days, it doesn't take away from the fact that it's surgery and it will keep JoMo out for a bit, which stinks. But hey, it is what it is... we gonna have to live with it.
Sad, but true. Get well soon Jordan!
