YANKEE BABY STEPS

It was a walk off, and it was dramatic.

Brett Gardner was able to win it for the Yankees today in the first Yankee walk off of the season.  And you know what?  While the world is not perfect... winning 2 in a row is much better than losing 7 out of 8.

Masahiro Tanaka went 7 innings for the Yankees today.  He gave up 5 hits and 2 runs and looked real good  today.  Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller each pitched 1 inning and held the Rays from scoring again, and in the process, Miller got the win. That's right, the win... because of that glorious walk off.

Here's how the runs scored...

In the first, with ARod up, there was a wild pitch and Carlos Beltran scored. Then in the 4th and 5th, the Rays scored a run.

The Yankees knotted it up 2-2 when Brett Gardner singled in Brian McCann.

Then, in the bottom of the ninth, Gardy hit a solo bomb and just like that, the Yankees would win it.  Hot Damn!

2 in a row.  Can they make it 3? Let's see.

Final: Yankees 3 - Rays 2
