#PROVEPEOPLEWRONG

I am inspired by people who are willing to stay with it, for long periods of time, despite the challenges ahead of them.  Some of these challenges are their own doing and some of these obstacles come from those who just underestimate what they see and believe.

CC Sabathia's voice this spring is loud and clear.  He has something to prove after he unearthed his alcohol addiction at the end of last season.  He is out there believing in himself and his ability to battle back.  His skipper has made it clear that Sabathia would need to fight for a spot in the rotation. And that's is clearly the veteran pitcher's intention.  #ProvePeopleWrong

36 years ago last week was the infamous "Do you believe in miracles?' moment in United States sports history.  The USA Hockey team beat the Russian team and moved onto winning the gold medal in the 1980 Olympic Games.  No sober person ever thought it was possible, except maybe the young players and their coach, Herb Brooks.  Maybe I did too.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  And at the end of the day, they did the unthinkable.  #ProvePeopleWrong

Golden State Warrior point guard Steph Curry is tearing down boundaries as well as his opponents this season.  Following an NBA Championship season, Curry is unstoppable.  But if you asked the scouts, they pegged him as a player who "relies to heavily on the outside shot."  Much like Derek Jeter, his value to the game was under estimated.  But despite the perceptions and judgements, Curry has risen above the chatter to #ProvePeopleWrong.

Am I saying that Sabathia has a chance to make a comeback this season? You bet I am.  Much like Alex Rodriguez, he is hungry for an opportunity to make things right.  Does he love the game like ARod? I am not sure.  But what I do know is that he is hungry and that is enough of a start.  #ProvePeopleWrong CC- you never know what's around the corner for you this season.  It's a brand new season- make the most of it!
