Nice little nugget from Meredith Marakovits on the Aroldis Chapman 30 day suspension, read HERE and him deciding not to appeal.
Meredith tweets:
Now the whole free agency thing is very interest. Bottom line, the way the suspension breaks down, Chapman will now be a free agent after the seeason.Chapman said free agency was a factor in his decision to not appeal suspension #yankees— Meredith Marakovits (@M_Marakovits) March 2, 2016
If it didn't, he would stay a Yankee. Even Yankee fans and BYB readers know how this works. Gotta love it. Check this out:
@BleednYankeeBlu 30 day suspension allows Chapman to become FA. Makes deal far less attractive from @Yankees perspective #ServiceTime— T. Frank Gentry (@yankeefrank23) March 1, 2016
For now, Chapman stays at Spring Training, works out with the team, and then is suspended during the regular season for 30 games. He returns on Mother's Day weekend. That's the irony here... right Ike Dimitriadis?@BleednYankeeBlu Wether MLB made an example or not 30 days isnt so terrible at this point in the season & the Yankees save $2mil. A bargain!— Howie Wallach (@HowieWallach) March 1, 2016
