I'm gonna be honest. I didn't see that one coming.
I speak often about moments, be it in Little League or in baseball or in life. Moments that change the direction of where your journey goes next. Last night was a perfect example of that.
The Blue Jays, who have been dominant over the past week or so they were up 3-0 until the 8th inning last night. At that point, Chase Headley hit a ground-rule double to drive in Mark Teixeira. Then it was 3-1. Then, next walked up Carlos Beltran, who has slowly and silently been delievering each game.
He came up with Headley and Brian McCann on base and deposited a home run into the right center field seats. It was not only epic... it was a moment, a huge moment for Yankee fans and for the Yankees who should be able to take that and keep on moving forward.
It then allowed Andrew Miller to come in and strike out Troy Tulowitzki for the last out of the game and save and win for the Yankees. Not only that, it passes the torch to Masahiro Tanaka today to hopefully continue their winning ways.
Good job Yanks... way to go Beltran.
Final: Yankees 4 - Blue Jays 3
