Ivan Nova battled today. His pitch count got high pretty quickly. He seemed to settle down after awhile but the 6th inning got away from him. You could see Joe Girardi and Larry Rothschild talking in the dugout about if they should pull him. Then with the bases loaded, Justin Smoak crushes a hanging curveball and the score quickly changes to 4-0 Blue Jays. Nova battled today for 5.1 innings, giving up 4 runs, 2 walks and struck out 6. He just ran out of gas unfortunately. It would've been nice to see Nova be more efficient today, but the Yankees gave him zero support out there today.
Bryan Mitchell came in during the 7th inning and Troy Tulowitzki hit a solo home run making it a 5-0 Jays lead. Russell Martin hit an infield single in the eighth allowing Jose Bautista to score. It was all Blue Jays today.
David Price on the other hand pitched like an ace. He pitched 7 innings, allowed 3 hits, 7 strikes and....no one scored on him. So much for previous Yankee domination because today he silenced the Yankee bats. This start and his previous two starts against us are very different.
We HAVE to win tomorrow!
Final: Blue Jays 6 - Yankees 0
