It has been reported through Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times from a report from the Japanese media outlet Sports Hochi that Masahiro Tanaka has named the New York Yankees as one of the 3 finalists in the Masahiro Tanaka Sweepstakes. The other two teams are the Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Because of the ARod suspension, the Yankees now have some spending flexibility, and you can
bet the team will now go "all in" for Tanaka. Sports Hochi also
reported that New York is listed as the favorite of the 3 to sign
Tanaka, which doesn't mean much, other than to stroke Yankeeland a bit, because in the end, only Tanaka knows what he wants. But trust me, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'd like to side with Sports Hochi right now! There is no question that the idea of getting Tanaka would be a tremendous boost for New York and it's looking more favorable than it did last week at least. The Yankees biggest hole this season is pitching. We all know why we waited, but now we're here and we can't lose out on Tanaka. We will know in the coming days just who wins the bid. So, Hank, Hal, and Brian... Please make this happen!
The clock is ticking... tick, tock, tick, tock. Your fan base is waiting!
