BREAKING: CANO IS SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE

According to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News, the talks between Robinson Cano and the Seattle Mariners have fallen through.

He writes: "According to two sources briefed on the negotiations, talks between the Mariners — the free agent second baseman’s lone stalking horse — and Cano’s camp — led by rapper-turned super-agent Jay Z and CAA’s Brodie Van Wagenen — collapsed after Jay Z overplayed his hand during Thursday night’s negotiating session.

Cano and his entourage arrived in Seattle with what sources described as basically an eight-year, $200 million deal in hand along with assurances that Seattle would go to nine years and $225 million, a figure confirmed late Thursday night by the Daily News.

But when Jay Z then upped the ante and demanded 10 years and $252 million — the same deal Alex Rodriguez took more than a decade ago when he left the Mariners for the Rangers —  Mariners chairman and CEO Howard Lincoln apparently “exploded,” according to one of the sources, ending the meeting."

Now look, I don't like to pat myself on the back, but did I tell you? DID BLEEDING YANKEE BLUE F**KING TELL YOU? This isn't about Robinson Cano, This is about Jay-Z trying to be a big dog in a field he has no experience in.  Read OH I GET IT. THIS IS ABOUT JAY-Z, NOT CANO, You will learn something. Now, you have to assume that the report from Mark Feinsand is true. There are conflicting reports that the talks are still on or not.  I'm sticking with Feinsand here.

Now look, if true, let me say this... I don't have to be in the negotiation room with this guy.  I know what I see, it's common sense.  Robinson Cano doesn't have a cue on how to do this and he hired a rap mogul to handle him. Bad move. Jay-Z has been exposed. We all know it now.

Now I'm eager to see Cano come home to New York now... tail between his legs and asking Hal to give him that 7 year $175 million offer.  It's the right thing to do.

Then, he needs to do 2 things on his list to get back in our good graces:

1. Fire Jay-Z.  I never thought I'd say this, but I miss Scott Boras.  Boras won't ruin reputations, he does his thing and gets the deal done.   Go away Jay... you don't have the best interest in your client.., you have the best interest in you and you've managed to destroy this guy's rep in the Bronx. Trust me, you didn't make a Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can. You never will.

2. Cano needs to rebuild the tarnished rep he currently has.  Greed kills and all ya'll who told me that Cano should fight for his worth missed one important part of this puzzle... he's worth 7 years / $175 million... not 9 / $225.
Stay tuned... this soap opera is fascinating.

Right now ARod is probably illegally gambling, banging blondes in a hotel bathroom and on a PEDs binge and no one cares... I kid of course. Alex, it's a joke...chill.
