BERNIE WILLIAMS ENDORSES BELTRAN

Hey, if Bernie Williams thinks Carlos Beltran should come to the Yankees, then I'll get behind that.

I don't know what the outcome of Carlos in the Bronx will be. I do know that he didn't have a very good time in Flushing with the Mets and alot of people speculated it was because the New York Media ate him up and he couldn't handle that kind of pressure. Who knows.  I do believe though that I trust Bernie's judgement.

It was reported a few days ago in the Star-Ledger that Bernie said this:  "There was even some talk about him becoming a Yankee, even before this opportunity came... That was around the time he ended up signing with the Mets. I think he definitely has experience in both leagues and he definitely would be able to make the adjustments to wherever he played."

OK, well, we will see.  Currently the Yankees are stuck on a 2 year deal, estimated to be about 2 years, $28 million.  Beltran wants 3 years.

Other teams that appear to be in the "mix" for Beltran are the Reds, where Cincinnati.com writes: "According to a report in Primera Hora, a newspaper in Puerto Rico, the Reds have reached out to Beltran’s agent, Dan Lozano. The author of the report, Noel Piñeiro told the Enquirer in an e-mail that Beltran said Lozano informed him of the Reds’ interest. Piñeiro said Beltran also told him he expects to make a decision by mid-December."

and the Mariners where Buster Olney tweeted this out this:
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports even stated that the Orioles are interested.  He Tweeted this out:

Now, Bernie and Beltran are buddies, and you need to know that because it's a big part of the story.  They were on the Puerto Rico team in 2009 together. Clearly Bernie has nothing to gain, but the endorsement is nice I bet coming from Bernie.

It's being reported that the Yankees are likely the front runners in this whole thing.

Will the Yanks make it happen because Bernie said so? We shall see.
