NIX TO DL
Jayson Nix is headed to the DL.
He was placed on the 15 day for a sore right hamstring. In order to replace Nix, Luis Cruz has been signed. Cruz previously played with the Dodgers, and was DFA'd on June 28th. He is scheduled to be in uniform for tonight's game at Minnesota.
Cruz, much like Nix, is a utility guy who plays the left side of the infield, and made 30 starts for the Dodgers. He is better known for his defensive plays, than for his bat. His stats in 128 plate appearances aren't too great. He has a .127 batting average, and .344 OPS. Let's hope a change of scenery gets this guy going.
Just a quick tidbit, as the same song, and dance of injuries in 2013, continues to plague the Yankees.
