The Runyon 5K run at Yankee Stadium was a huge success! On August 12th,
thousands ran to support cancer research. of avid runners, passionate
baseball fans, cancer survivors, and supporters of cancer research took
part in the fourth annual Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium, the only
charitable run/walk that uses the legendary ballpark as its course.
The event sold out four weeks in advance, with 4,000 participants
raising nearly $715,000 for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. The run has raised more than $2 million since 2009. The funding allows today's best young scientists to pursue
innovative cancer research.
We here at Bleeding Yankee Blue love to support this run and will continue to do so as long as we're around. We've had some great interviews promoting this run with the special thanks for Doug Drotman. Thank you Doug.
