THE YANKEES RELEASED SEVEN

Just a minor note, pardon the pun.  The Yankees have released 7 minor league players.

According to Baseball America, those players are:

"...C Isaias Tejeda, 2B Angelo Gumbs, SS Bryan Cuevas, OF Jordan Barnes, OF Griff Gordon, OF Jose Infante, OF Teodoro Martinez.

Second baseman Angelo Gumbs, a 2010 second-round pick out of high school who signed for $750,000, topped out at high Class A Tampa in each of the past three seasons, but the four-time Yankees top 30 prospect hit just .208 in 678 at-bats in the Florida State League."

Quick note about a minor league move that I'd like to tell you about.

According to Lou DiPietro of YESNetwork.com, the Yanks signed outfielder Teodoro Martinez to a minor league deal.

"...Yankees have purchased the contract of outfielder Teodoro Martinez from the Rockford Aviators of the independent Frontier League, and assigned him to Class-A Advanced Tampa.

Both moves were announced in a Tweet by the Tampa Yankees' official account late Monday.

Martinez, 23, was 13-for-47 (.277) with one home run and six RBI in 12 games for the Aviators this season.

He made his debut with the T-Yanks on Monday night, going 0-for-4 as the right fielder in a 1-0 loss to Dunedin. Prior to this season, Martinez had spent his entire career in the Texas Rangers organization..."

Hey, nothing wrong with making a move like this.

Hey, I once drank a Teodoro in Miami on the yacht with the Posadas.  I woke up on a curb in Vegas the following afternoon.  I'll never do that again... they can be deadly.
