THE LATEST CASHMAN FAILURE IS A BIG ONE!

I was disappointed in the Yankees lack of meaningful trade deadline acquisitions.....but now I am just downright pissed. What was once the smallest addition based purely on additions of new bodies to the roster has all pretty much been erased. It's the latest Cashman screw up.

I wasn't super excited about Jazz Chisholm Jr. when we got him. In fact, when I spoke with other friends about Chisholm I made a bet that he would be injured within a month. I should've bet in terms of dollars because then I'd have a few extra bucks at least. He's injury prone....and now he's injured with us.  Perfect (This is sarcasm).

So, what's worse than an injury prone player? A hope that the Yankees would catch lightening in a bottle with Enyel De Los Santos, but it didn't happen. After they acquired him, he was steamrolled for 10 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings over 5 games. After he pitched batting practice to the White Sox, the damage was done. There's no coming back from that. You know it's bad even when the Yankees give up on a guy after two weeks.

So only Mark Leiter Jr. remains, and you could argue he is hanging by a thread. There's something about a 33-year old relief pitcher with a 4.57 ERA that just doesn't sound the prettiest. None the less.....he is the last man standing in the Yankees lackluster trade deadline party. It wasn't much to be excited about before and now it just looks like a two week bust.

It all adds up to Brian Cashman's latest failure. His trade acquisitions turned into a dud. Or you can even call it a giant turd. It's a good thing the Yankees didn't really give up anything of significant value. Nonetheless, it's still an epic failure.

It's the latest chapter in Brian Cashman's failed novel.... and I am tired of his starring role.
