The New York Post writes:
"Michael Pineda has been diagnosed with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow and is headed to Tommy John surgery, general manager Brian Cashman said Friday on a conference call.
Pineda is getting a second opinion, Cashman added. Surgery would keep Pineda sidelined possibly until 2019. The 28-year-old will become a free agent after this season, meaning his stint in pinstripes is likely over."
We already have enough trouble in the starting rotation.
Sure... kick me while I'm down.
