Hal Steinbrenner spoke to the media and went over a bunch of stuff related to the Yankees. Bleeding Yankee Blue chose to jump into the quotes he made about the youth movement. After all, we have been shouting from the rooftops about how important and instrumental the youth movement can be. Read STEINBRENNER SPEAKS! THE FUTURE IS HERE, FOLKS!

I'm the first to say that I'm not a huge Hal Steinbrenner fan. I think for a while now he's made a few bad decisions, sits on his hands too much while smart, strong free agents get signed by our rivals and is slow to the draw when we really have an opportunity to improve. But I think in this business you feel your way through it too, and that's part of what he's doing here. Finally he and the rest of the Steinbrenner family... and Stick Cashman are rebuilding our Yankee future. It's great, although I'm sure there are few that maybe want an instant free agent stud. I get it... it's what being a fan is... you get to love your team and criticize too!
But if anyone in their right mind thinks that all men in America like the idea of domestic violence and hitting women... get your head checked. Hal Steinbrenner does not endorse whatever situation Chapman was in, nor do I, nor does anyone... ANYONE!
A good journalist would have stopped Hal after he said "we forget", and followed up with a... "Mr. Steinbrenner, you said forget. Do you want to clarify?" But they didn't, they heard it, they wrote it down on their stupid notebook knowing it would be a good story full of clicks for them in the morning. That damages a person's reputation... but not only that, it waters down the importance of what good journalism is all about.
We've lost integrity, haven't we?
Hal Steinbrenner doesn't want anyone to forget about the domestic violence incident, stupid! He misspoke. Anyone with a brain can see that. The question is, why can't smart journalists get the story straight.
Unbelievable.
