GLEYBER TORRES LOVES ARIZONA!
No one knew exactly what to expect from Gleyber Torres when he came to the New York Yankees. We all just knew he was a very good prospect. Well, now that he's over in the Arizona Fall League... he's able to truly express himself, and I would suggest that right now for Torres... life is good!
YES Network has the story:
"Entering play Thursday, Torres has gotten five games of experience in the Fall League to compete alongside the stiffest competition from around the league (plus Tim Tebow), and is already proving himself to be a cut above the rest. Though the 17 at-bat sample size is undoubtedly small, Torres ranks first in the league in slugging (.882), tied for second in batting average (.412), tied for second in home runs (2), and third in total bases (15).
Again, he's played just five games for the Scottsdale Scorpions. He's only 19 years old. There's plenty left to deduce about his talents and consistency beyond a very brief stint in the Fall League. But factoring in his hot start out west, along with his strong 2016 season in High-A (125 G, .270/.354/.421, 11 HR, 66 RBI, 21 SB), Torres looks to have the skill-set that Major League teams covet."
You have no idea how excited I am to see Torres, Bird, Sanchez, Judge, Williams, Austin, Frazier, Severino and all the other kids just kick ass in the near future for the New York Yankees. We have turned the page ladies and gentlemen.
Youth is coming. Get excited!
