YANKEES ARE 'CONNECTED' TO CUBS' VOGELBACH

Speculation is our friend, and I actually love this rumor by FOX Sports Jon Morosi and expanded by ESPN's Courtney Schellin involving the Chicago Cubs and AAA prospect Dan Vogelbach:

"Vogelbach, who's built like a designated hitter, will be of interest to AL clubs looking for a long-term solution at first base or DH at the trade deadline, Morosi reports.

Of note, the New York Yankees have the worst first-base production of any team in the league this year. The Cubs are said to be heavily interested in Yanks reliever Andrew Miller, which suggests that perhaps Vogelbach could be part of a package that entices New York to deal the left-hander."

Now the Yankees haven't spoke publicly about Vogelbach, but there have been plenty of speculation that the Yanks could trade one or more of the 3 headed relief monster consisting of Miller, Aroldis Chapman or Dellin Betances.   Now, while I believe Dellin and Aroldis are probably not gonna be moved, Miller's been talked about being on the trading block since the winter.

Whatever the case, it's a very interesting rumor and something to think about. Vogelbach is batting .312 with 15 homers in AAA. He's young and could easily replace Mark Teixeira at first. It could be a great addition to our lame lineup, don't you think?
