ONE REFSNYDER PLAY PROVES DETERMINATION TO SUCCEED!

This debut at third base doesn't determine Rob Refsnyder's position for the season.  It does however put the Yankees and Yankee fans at ease because they have worried about Chase Headley and his error happy seeason at 2015.  Maybe it helps the Yankees realize that Headley means more rest during the season.  Maybe it means they can believe in Refsnyder once in a while and not worry.

George King III of the New York Post writes: "...the initial impression was hard to ignore, even if it was in a meaningless 6-5 exhibition loss to the Phillies at Bright House Field. Refsnyder, who started his pro career in right field and then moved to second base, snagged Carlos Ruiz’s second-inning smash with runners on first and second and no outs and turned it into a 5-4-3 double play. It was the first of two chances Refsnyder handled at third.

'I knew I had time and I let [Starlin] Castro do the rest,’ said Refsnyder, who made a perfect throw to the second baseman. 'He made a great turn on it. I learned from [Chase Headley] that you have to make a good feed.'"

Is this earth shattering news? Nope.  It does let Yankee fans know he can handle it. It gives the Yankees options and sure, while Ref will most likely start the season in the minors, when it does come down to the last days of Spring Training, and if Ref continues to prove that he's determined to make it and stay in the Bigs.... the Yankees will need to look long and hard on what this kid can do.

I root for Ref.  He's about hard work.  He's about team.  He's out to prove something.  You cannot deny that!

A small nugget worth reporting on the kid.
