I GUESS WE NEED A TIME MACHINE...
This might be the dumbest non-nugget of the past 24 hours... and it comes from Jon Heyman among others:
Here's Heyman:
"Brandon Phillips will be a National if his deal can be completed, and there's no reason he shouldn't approve a trade to a contending team with a manager he loves in Dusty Baker. But he's turned down opportunities to leave the Reds before (the Yankees two years ago)."
Why does anyone care about what did or didn't happen 2 years ago? Why? More importantly, I'm not sure what's worse, Heyman throwing that non-nugget out there, or RAB doing a full story about it. There are other things to write about. These folks are better than that.
