I just wanted to share this with you, because it brings closure to what we celebrate here every year on BYB. The Runyon 5K run is complete and once again was a huge success! We champion the work of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation and support any money raised for cancer research. That's why BYB has such an incredible relationship with the organization.

This year, according to the Runyon folks:
"...more than 2,700 baseball fans, runners, walkers, and cancer survivors and their friends and family members took part in the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation’s 7th Annual Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium – and 100% of raised funds will directly support innovative cancer research by brilliant early career scientists.
This year, the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation kicked off the event with a Kids Fun Run – allowing children between the ages of five and 12 years old to take one lap around the warning track before the 5K began.
Since 2009, the Runyon 5K has raised more than $3.5 million for cancer research. As always, 100% of all donations raised by participants will directly support the nation’s most brilliant young scientists, pursuing cures for all forms of cancer."
Over all, quite a success and we look forward to next years event and hopefully the Kids Fun Run returns as well.
Job well done to all the participants and to a wonderful program.
