"FEEL RIGHT IN THIS MOTHER..."
The Yankees won, and I felt good. In fact, I felt right... just like that song by Mark Ronson and Mystikal. It's that feeling you have when you know you have a few games off and you come off a big win. It's that feeling you get when you root for the prospect and he delivers like Rob Refsnyder did today. You feel right... "FEEL RIGHT IN THIS MOTHER..."
Yankees win and now it's the All-Star break. Bring it.
Nathan Eovaldi started for the Yanks. He went 5 innings, gave up 7 hits and 3 runs. He was followed by Adam Warren, who gave up another Sox run, Justin Wilson, Betances and then Andrew Miller. Miller gave up 2 more runs. More on that in a moment.
It was about the runs scoring and the moments today. In the second inning, Brian McCann homered. It was a 2 run shot. The Sox came back scoring 3. At that point it was 3-2 Red Sox.
In the 5th, with Didi Gregorius at the plate, a balk, and Brian McCann scored. Then in the 6th, 3 more runs... all on doubles. ARod doubled and Brett Gardner scored. Then Chris Young doubled and another run scored. Then Chase Headley doubled and Chris Young scored.
The Sox scored 1 in the bottom of that inning.
Then, in the 9th, Rob Refsnyder hit a 2 run home run. It was 8-4 at this point, but with Miller on the mound, he gave up 2 more Sox runs. Luckily though we were able to shut the door.
And just like that... it feels right.
Final: Yankees 8 - Red Sox 6
