3 IS NOT ENOUGH
I feel like many games the Yankees just can't score enough runs... It's happening a lot lately. Couple that with the fact that it seems like many nights Dellin Betances gets beat. Those 2 things make up a combination for losing close games. That's what happened against Oakland last night. I'm not going to bore you with many details... we lost. That's it.
Nathan Eovaldi started for the Yanks. He went 5.1 innings giving up 6 hits and just 2 runs. Chasen Shreve gave up the other. In a nutshell, it was 3-3 until the 10th. More on that in a moment. I want to tell you how the Yankees scored.
In the first both Brian McCann and Garrett Jones singled. McCann knocked in Brett Gardner, Jones knocked in Chase Headley.
In the fourth, Didi Gregorius singled as well, knocking in McCann. By then it was 3-2, until Billy Butler hit a solo shot off Shreve to tie it up.
Then, in the 10th, the blow... Brett Lawrie homered off Dellin Betances... and that was all she wrote.
I know I'm not the only one that can't wait to have Andrew Miller back. How about you?
Final: Athletics 4 - Yankees 3
