TANAKA WILL PITCH IN SEATTLE

When BYB last left Masahiro Tanaka, we wrote: TANAKA: NOT GREAT. NOT BAD. FAIR.

It was revealed then that Masahiro didn't have a great outing, and I suggested, "Look, if you asking me what I think about Tanaka, it's simple. This is one bad start and no doubt it won't mess with his timeline, whatever that is, nor his return."

Nailed it. Tanaka will be back next week, probably pitching on Tuesday or Wednesday against the Mariners. Newsday writes: "... Girardi said Tanaka was scheduled to join the club late Thursday night. The Yankees will evaluate him Friday and make a determination about Seattle.

'Today he felt fine,' Girardi said. 'We'll make sure he's OK and have a heart-to-heart with him about how he feels.'

There is little reason to think Tanaka won't make a start in Seattle, where he would be on a pitch count of 80 to 85."

And that's good news for Tanaka and the Yanks!
