According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, "Yankees have hired longtime star third baseman Eric Chavez as a special assignment scout....Some teams view him as a potential hitting coach, too, but it isn't known if Chavez seeks that type of job at this time."
Nice job if you can get it.
Hell, I'm happy. I love Chavez when he was in New York. He's a hard-nosed player and good teammate. He also understood what it means to be a New York Yankee.
