HEY, SELIG! THE FEELING IS MUTUAL!

With our season coming to a close, some of our attentions seem to be shifting to one thing. Now, after the Derek Jeter walk off... and the 3 games in Boston where he'll most likely DH. Some fans are already thinking about the return of Alex Rodriguez. Fans seem split on how they feel about it, but one thing is for certain, it is inevitable. His suspension has been spent mostly keeping to himself, spending time with his family, and more recently working out in preparation for next season. He hasn't caused many waves, if any at all. The fact that he is preparing for the 2015 season means he is at least dedicated to doing his best for the team. Of course people still have voiced their opinions on the matter. Including Bud Selig.

The other day, Selig was asked to offer his opinion on the impending return of ARod. He deflected for the most part but did drop a few notable quotes. According to Newsday, Selig made it very clear that he couldn't possibly care less about ARod's return, making it clear that it was between him and the Yankees.

"Major League Baseball? We've done all we can and should do, and so the rest is up to Alex and the Yankees."

Selig has never made his feelings for ARod a secret. We can all see that he doesn't like the guy. Remember the picture he took with a fan wearing an "ARoid" shirt?

His claims that he didn't read the shirt, but it's a bold and obvious print. And the look of utter amusement on his face makes it obvious that he is full of "it."

And not to rehash... but I must; Add to that the ridiculous suspension he attempted to hand ARod. 211 games? On what grounds? ARod has never had a positive drug test. And even if he had a positive drug result, 211 game suspension is unheard of, and absolutely unfair, since he would be considered a first time offender. In section 7, part A of the JOINT DRUG AGREEMENT, it says that a first time offender will be suspended for 50 games. Adding the 61 games for obstruction of evidence still makes it 100 games too many.

Oh, and the obstruction of evidence? You mean like the stolen documents that the MLB purchased, under the direction of Selig and Rob Manfred? But of course we are supposed to pretend that it never happened.

I'm not going to mince words here, I don't like Selig, and I have been extremely candid about it. Maybe that makes my coverage in all of this seems slightly biased, fine. I do have an opinion. Thank Goodness Casey let's me express it on the pages of BYB. But look, for Selig to say that the MLB did all they could about ARod is a load of crap! All he did was pretend like he was saving us from the PED problem that HE created, and nurtured. Or are we supposed to place those in the same box you placed your stolen documents, Selig?

Selig at least got one thing right. It IS between ARod and the Yankees. The organization made the contract with him, and as a result he needs to deliver. The Yankees need him. Regardless of whatever personal feelings you may have, ARod is still productive defensively. You could huff and puff about the contract all you want, but it's out of our control. Hey, I'm not a fan of the contract myself, but the Yankees signed off on it.The organization expects him back, so he is coming back. That's really all there is to it.

The complete disregard that Selig has for ARod is laughable. The fact that he made it so that everything seems to be ARod's fault is ludicrous to me. And to act as if he's the worse thing to happen to the MLB is down right delusional. I'm going to go ahead and say it... SELIG, NOT AROD, IS THE WORST THING TO HAPPEN TO BASEBALL. I promise you, the same way that he could care less about ARod's return... well that's kind of how I feel about his retirement. Wait, I stand corrected! I care only in that I cannot wait for him to retire. Not that Manfred is much of a step up, but any day without Selig is a good day!

Hey, can you hear me now? Adios, Selig! It's finally over.
