THE YANKEES "GRIND IT" IN TORONTO

Wow we needed that! Big win tonight and the hero has to be Vernon Wells who I guess is just familiar with playing in Toronto after playing there for quite a few years.  I didn't know what Joe Girardi was thinking when Vernon Wells walked up the plate with a righty on the mound and 2 lefties on our bench.  Statistically, it made sense to bring in a lefty. But Joe stuck with Wells, and within seconds, the Yankees took the lead after a 2 run double by Wells.  You have to feel good for him... you have to feel good for the Yanks, because right now... every game matters.

Phil Hughes started for the Yankees and went 3.1 innings and gave up 4 hits, 2 runs and 1 home run.  The other run was given up by David Huff.  The Blue Jays scored 3 runs the entire game and the Yankees were just lost.  It wasn't until the 8th when the Yankees came alive.

Brendan Ryan doubled.  Then Curtis Granderson singled and Ryan went to third. Robinson Cano singled and Ryan scored. Then Alfonso Soriano doubled immediately and Grandy scored.  Vernon Wells came up, doubled and 2 runs scored and suddenly we're up... just like that.

Then, Mo gets Save number 44 in a 4 out save. God Bless America.

Final: Yankees 4 - Blue Jays 3

Momentum is key right now ladies and gentlemen... we need to keep winning.  After today, I believe we can... who's with me?
