THE YANKEES WON A GAME!
The Yankees found a way to win last night and Ivan Nova was a big part of the reason. I'm not sure what happened to this guy earlier in the season, but he's now figured out a few things and is slowly coming into his own. With that, the Yankees were able to score 3 runs and win a ball game. As you know, lately, that's not easy.
Ivan Nova pitched 7 innings, allowed just 4 hits and no runs. He was followed by Houdini who pitched a scoreless 8th and Mariano Rivera shut the door and got Save 35. Pretty smooth.
The run scoring for the Yankees went like this; In the 7th, Curtis Granderson hit a home run, the first one since officially being back from injury. That was a 2 run shot. Then, in the 9th Jayson Nix singled and knocked in Grandyman. 3 runs to the Padres' none. I'll take what I can get right now.
Final: Yankees 3 - Padres 0
Go Yanks!
