GUESS WHERE ALEX RODRIGUEZ IS ABOUT TO PLAY?
Great news if you are an Alex Rodriguez fan, or if you just want to get some extra Yankee offense from our injured guys and try and turn our sinking ship around... Alex Rodriguez begins playing games tomorrow, in Charleston.
I just got the email confirming that tomorrow night, Alex will play for the Charleston Riverdogs. Sean Houston send this press release:
"Rodriguez will make a rehab start on Tuesday, July 2nd when the Charleston RiverDogs host the Rome Braves at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Rodriguez will start at third base and play a minimum of three innings. First pitch is slated for 7:05 pm....Major Leaguers that have had recent rehab assignments in Charleston include Brett Gardner... Phil Hughes... Carl Pavano..."
That last part made me laugh because no one in Yankeeland likes Pavano, never include him. Not exactly a selling point. No offense to the Riverdogs, we love them... just a funny thing.
Anyway, this is an exciting development and it turns out Alex was in fact correct when he tweeted that he was ready to play in games, (read CASHMAN CLEARLY DOESN'T LIKE AROD for context.) It's my opinion that Cashman really blew that one. It's clear now.
Anyway, to help our Charleston, buy tickets, contact the RiverDogs Box Office at 843-577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com.
