Brian Cashman has practically confirmed it. As reported by Kevin Sullivan on YESNetwork.com (HERE):
"General manager Brian Cashman met with the media on Sunday to update the status of the Yankees' Captain. According to Cashman, Jeter felt soreness in his surgically-repaired ankle following Saturday's game. As a result, the shortstop will not play for the next two days. He will be evaluated again following the two days of rest."
According to Cashman, Jeet will be looking at an April 6th return, following a DL stint... so we will see.
I think it's fair to say that Eduardo Nunez be the Yankees starting shortstop on Opening Day. And you know what? He has my blessing. See my about-face on when you read THE LEADER THAT CAN BE EDUARDO NUNEZ.
Rest up Jeet... we're gonna need you.
