Wow! What should have been a 3 year deal worth about $39 million (HERE) has turned into a 1 year deal worth $5 million between Mike Napoli and the Red Sox. This comes from Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.com HERE.
Rob Bradford of WEEI (HERE) says: "The deal includes incentives that could increase the value of the contract back to roughly $13 million if Napoli does not spend any time on the disabled list due to a hip injury. The contract is strictly a one-year deal — it does not include any team, vesting or mutual options."
