THERE'S PLENTY OF BASEBALL LEFT YANKEE FANS!

I know, I know, we got swept by the Blue Jays this past weekend. It still stings. We lost a heartbreak to the Indians. Yuk. That should happen. So far, we've seen that our offense was in the OFF position. Toronto's pitching has been great and their lineup is that of an All-Star team. The Indians would not die last night. Nonetheless, the Yankees enter the second week of August in first place in the AL East with a lot of ball to be played.

The Yankees were red hot in July going 17-6 for the month. Their offense was surging and their pitching did well enough to keep them in games. Before the sweep by the Jays, the Yankees took two of three from the Red Sox and the White Sox, split with the Rangers and took two of three from the Twins. That isn't bad at all! All managers want is to win series'. Over 162 games, great teams are bound to lose 60+ games and that's OK!

On the flip side of things, the Blue Jays are on fire and made plenty of moves to become much better, most notably acquiring Troy Tulowitzki and David Price. Kudos to them. Does anyone remember a couple months ago when the Jays were on fire and then they cooled off? Then the Yanks were on fire and cooled off? That's baseball.

The Yankees still play the Jays 10 more times plus they play 15 games against the rest of the AL East before the end of September. There is still plenty of baseball left!

I know lots of Yankees fans were upset the Yankees didn't make any blockbuster moves, or in my opinion just bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch... The team that was red hot in July did not make any drastic moves while up seven games. That is just fine and dandy. Sure Pineda went down, but Severino came up. Not a bad trade off.

So what will the last seven weeks of the season bring? I don't know! But I am happy with the spot the Yankees are in. First place is always a good place to be. Plus their pitching has been overall pretty darn good the last few weeks and the old saying is pitching and defense wins championships. The offense decided to take a break but that's baseball my friends. Baseball is streaky.

Remember that this team was predicted to be the bottom feeders of the AL East and they're doing pretty well. I'm digging that. I'm loving what ARod and Tex are doing. McCann has performed very well both behind the plate and at the dish. There is nothing bad to say about Betances and Miller. Didi has become a threat at the plate and has played a great SS as of late. Even Beltran is contributing some. Look at his homer last night!

So for the fans that think this past 4 losses was "the season and it is now over", perhaps you don't know baseball that well.  Bottom line, the Yankees are still in FIRST PLACE, we'll be back to playing game winning ball in no time, and still have plenty of baseball to play! Remember that.

Go Yanks!
