WHY THERE'S A PLAN FOR SWISHER AND ICHIRO

Nick Swisher is out with a mild strain in his left hip flexor and the plan is for him to return by today at least in his mind, read about it HERE. But the day Ichiro Suzuki  was acquired by the Yankees, Yankeeland got alittle nervous. I heard alot of "Why is Ichiro our right fielder?" Don't stress, it'll be OK.  Let’s break it down for you here on BYB…Nick Swisher will be fine.
The whole reason why Ichiro Suzuki went to the Yankees was because the Yanks needed a replacement for Brett Gardner, NOT Nick Swisher.  Gardy is out most likely for the remainder of the season, read HERE and they needed a quick fix.  Ichiro fell into their lap and they didn’t want him to walk away.  So, they will most likely start Ichiro in right field and they have, because Swish was hurt. They let Ichiro get used to playing in Yankees road grays and play in a park that’s he’s familiar and then when the Yankees return to the Bronx, hopefully Nick comes back, mans right and Ichiro takes over in left to thunderous applause in the Bronx tonight.
Ichiro will not only be the spark plug we need at the plate and on the base paths, he will also be the stability we need to left field after platooning Raul Ibanez and Andruw Jones there, and Nick Swisher isback where he belongs...right field.  That's it... The End... don’t over think it…Nick Swisher isn’t going anywhere.

Now, I can’t tell you Nick won’t go to another team after this season.  He will be a Free Agent, and it will be his first time ever, so, in street terms, he needs to go out and try to get that paper! If Swisher can go out and get a big contract, he should. Do I want him to leave the Bronx? No, but that’s another post for another time…look for it here at BYB.  In the meantime, The Yankees actually DO have a plan for Ichiro and Swish and it’s a good one, believe me... Sure, it may not be GGS, But I can handle IGS.
