WHY THE YANKEE HITTING IS SPREADING

The Yankees won tonight knocking in 6 runs on 14 hits against the Seattle Mariners.  That's the Yankees team that I know and love.  You can't beat that.

Robinson Cano is batting .308 right now.  He's hitting.  He's hitting like I said he'd be hitting once he cranked out the Grand Slam last Sunday. "I have no doubt that Grand Slam helped his bruised ego and confidence a bit, but now he’s got to get back to his old form. Last night he knocked in the only run in the Yankees loss to the Rays, read HERE.  We want to see .300 Cano, not .230, you’re better than that!" (Read WHY THERE'S NO WORRY WHEN IT COMES TO CANO.)

Hiroki Kuroda was the good Hiroki Kuroda tonight...which is good news but basically means that the bad Hiroki Kuroda will be there in the next outing. Damn.  Luckily tonight though, Kuroda pitched seven innings, gave up 6 hits and 2 runs. I'll take that.
David Robertson came in tonight, a non-save situation and ended the game.  Give Girardi alittle credit, he threw Robertson to get his confidence back alittle bit and most likely DRob will be in the next save situation we have.  The kid's gonna be alright.

Raul Ibanez continues to impress, he went 3 for 4 tonight and another home run.  Good for him.  I missed it but Twitter was saying David Cone said Raul Ibanez reminded him of Yul Brynner.

If he really said that, that's hilarious. I must have missed it. It makes for a good split screen at least.  Pretty close Coney!

Andruw Jones also had a home run tonight and Derek Jeter had another hit.  Jeet's average is up to .372. One major disappointment is Mark Teixeria.  Yes, he had 2 hits tonight, but the guy overall is batting .221 in May.  Historically the guys had a slow start but you have got to be kidding me Tex... COME ON!  What do we need to do to give this guy a kick in the ass?  We need some of the Cano hitting to rub off.
Finally... in Jesus Montero watch, of course Montero cranked one out in the Bronx. What do you expect?  It's the old, "See what you gave away" Home run.  Good for him. You can't fault him for wanting to play well against his former team.

So yeah, final score tonight: Yankees 6 - Mariners 2.  Good one and more to come.  Looking forward to tomorrow and of course to Sunday when Andy Pettitte takes the mound.
