WHY YANKEE FANS PICK PRINCE FIELDER

Well, if the Bleeding Yankee Blue readers were the majority... and maybe you are, you just chose Prince Fielder (39 votes) as the 1 Free Agent hitter you would really want in the Bronx. That was followed very closely by Albert Pujols (36 votes) and third on the list was fan Favorite Eric Chavez (25 votes). Carlos Beltran, Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui were the others that had double digit votes and rest just received a few. See the voting below.
Back in October, I wrote, IS PRINCE FIELDER COMING TO THE BRONX? because at the time, there was enormous hype about the guy. Look, it is clear to me that Prince Fielder in Yankee Stadium would knock the crap out of the ball and that short porch in right would be a Fielder's paradise, but the more I thought about it, how would he fit? Sure, you can look at this list and know exactly what guy needs to wear the pinstripes, but what then needs to happen? What moves need to be made so Fielder fits?
Mark Teixeira's at first base for the Yankees, he's the top defensive first baseman in baseball, he also hits the ball really well and since he's been in the Bronx, he's helped get us to 1 World Series and with the years left on his contract, he's bound to help get us more. Fielder is a first baseman you know, and Lord knows, he's way too young to be just a DH. So if the Yankees did sign this guy to some monster deal, would they really just platoon Teixeira and Fielder? I just don't see it.
Then you need to think about what we all have been thinking about...starting pitching. CJ Wilson, Edwin Jackson, Tim Lincecum, John Danks, Mark Buehrle... they've all been out there connected to the Yankees in some capacity this off season, the Yankees are bound to sign one of them, whether by trade or free agency. Isn't pitching more important right now instead of a really really expensive power hitter? Yes, don't get me wrong... I love the long ball, but maybe, just maybe the timing is wrong on this. I love Prince Fielder, but unless he wants to be a full-time Designated Hitter, I'm just not sure this is possible.

Look BYB freaks, you guys are usually right, so I'm not dismissing this vote, it's definitely an important one, but comment and let me know what how YOU think we can work Fielder into New York, because, there is no doubt, I'd love to see it happen.
