THE YANKEES ARE IN A TOUGH SPOT WITH JASSON DOMINGUEZ!

The Yankees have some big decisions to make in the next few weeks. We are seven weeks away from the postseason, and social media is buzzing about what the Yankees could and should do to be ready for the best chance to win it all.

One of the biggest question marks surrounding the Yankees right now is should they promote Jasson Dominguez and bring him up to the Bronx? He's been a non-factor since September last season and we are all anxiously awaiting for The Martian to land in the big leagues again. I know I am ready to see that happen, but it sounds like his landing will be delayed.

So "There's no lane for us to bring him" according to Brian Cashman, but my X feed has been buzzing with a lot of speculation about him replacing Alex Verdugo in left field. The Yankees have two of the best players in the game with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto manning their outfield. Then they have Verdugo who is okay at best. He started off red hot but after May he turned ice cold and had a .239 BA prior to Sunday's game. He's heated up as of late though and has a .315 BA since July 26th. So, it's progress.

It makes sense that the Yankees are holding with Verdugo for now. There's no reason to rush The Martian back when he has had two major injuries in the last 11 months AND he's not exactly killing it down in Triple-A. In his first 11 games back, he's got a .163 BA and 15 strikeouts. Keeping him down in Triple-A gives him more time to get back into a routine and if the Yankees wait to promote him until Mid-September, he won't accrue any service time and allows him to build himself back up without any additional pressure.

I'm ready to see The Martian back in action, I'm really anxious actually. But I do understand why the Yankees are holding off for now. Roster expansions look different now, and once September 1st rolls around, teams can only add one extra position player and one extra pitcher. The Yankees will have to be more strategic and until The Martian is back on his feet and giving consistent results, there's no need to make a change from the veteran outfielder for now.

So, while the Yankees have no plans to promote Dominguez now, that doesn't mean we will wait forever. Needless to say, if he heats back up again and either someone else gets hurt or Verdugo regresses it may force the Yankees hand.

Either way - we'll be seeing you soon-ish, Martian.
