THE YANKEES CLAIM SPONGEBOB

The first piece has happened.  Good for us.

The Yankees have claimed Oscar Gonzalez off waivers from the Indians. MLB Trade Rumors writes:

"The Yankees have claimed outfielder Oscar Gonzalez off waivers from the Guardians, reports Jack Curry of YES Network. There wasn’t any public indication that Gonzalez was removed from the Cleveland roster but they evidently tried to pass him through waivers without success. Cleveland’s 40-man roster is now at 39 while the Yankees are at 37."

Gonzalez did not have a good season last year, but that means nothing to me as I believe in new city, new life and I look forward to seeing this guy in pinstripes.  As an outfielder, it fills a void we desperately need.
