And then comes Wonderboy, Tyler Austin, a kid I've admired for a while now ever since the day we interviewed him on BYB. (Read EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: TYLER AUSTIN... WONDERBOY)
He wants that first base job, a job that is the unspoken position of Greg Bird's. But for Austin, this is about showing what he's got and doing it as hard as he can. You gotta admire that. He's gonna make the Yankees decision to replace Austin difficult. In the end, while I like Bird, I'm pulling for Wonderboy. He's earning this role.
