Small nugget to my BYB readers and something that I want to point out to all of you...probably because I'm just really proud of what my writers offer on the daily, especially the past week and a half...
This is a picture of my laptop. That picture was texted to me by my friend Jim, a computer genius, a BYB reader, a Jets fan and just an all around great guy. I've had this laptop for 5 years. It's my life and the way I deliver all my work to you every day. It's my BYB headquarters if you will. Plus, I have my music on it, my kids pictures, and my old vacation itineraries. You know the drill. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed that I was receiving a Hard Drive Error message when I booted it up. Well, I panicked, but I gotta tell you, when I told Jim about it, he was nice enough to tell me what I needed to do, and he told me he'd help me fix it. When I say he'd "help me", that means I'd drop it off to him, I'd bite my nails in worry, and hopefully he'd fix it.
Well, I have news for you... he did.
I've been without a laptop for over a week. I was very limited in being able to post and share stories about the Yankees to my Bleeding Yankee Blue audience for that amount of time. I've only been able to really work on the site early, EARLY in the morning and late at night on a very crappy desktop that I have in my home. It's been tricky. But the reason why I'm telling you this isn't because I was limited... it's because I want to give props to my amazing writers, who, when I told them about my dilemma, they stepped up to the plate, and took over with whatever Bleeding Yankee Blue needed to keep running smoothly. Bottom line, while I was concerned that the BYB audience would notice the change in story placement and routine, you probably didn't... and that's a testament to my writers. They stepped up big time to make the situation appear seamless... and I just want to say "thank you."
Remember, BYB is not some enormous operation built with teams of computer geniuses. We are mothers and fathers and wives and husbands who do this as a hobby and for the love of writing and the Yankees. In the end, I'm proud of our little engine that could. Not only that, I'm proud that we all stuck together in what I thought was a critical time in BYB land.
To Jim, to my writers... thank you all for being great people!
