METS OWNED!

Mets fans are already bitching about this weekend.  They are certainly bitching about last night saying "Matt Harvey HAD to come out. He has an innings limit.  Yankees would have lost if he didn't have to come out."

Matt Harvey? Innings limit? Hey, that's your problem.  It's a fact that Harvey needs to be throwing more,  not less, but the Mets will screw that up as well.  Pitchers need to throw long toss at about 70% percent every few days to keep their arm conditioned.  Keeping arms cold will eventually break down a pitcher.  Don't believe me? Talk to Tommy John.  Wanna know why young pitchers are breaking down? Talk to Tommy John.  Whatever the case, I don't care about Matt Harvey's well being. I care about the Mets losing.

I received 2 emails from Mets fans after we posted MEET THE METS. BEAT THE METS. and THE BEASTIE BOYS VS. 3rd BASS. One was, "In your dreams."  That came on Friday. The other came on Saturday evening after the Yankees won...

"Sir, with all due respect. We are the Mets, and this is our year. The Yankees are terrible.  The Yankees will not beat the Mets pitching and will surely not win 2 of 3 in the Citifield. You are delusional.  You sound arrogant, and I think BYB is trash."

Thank you for your note.  I'm not a hater, so I'll just put this right here, and I'll conceal your name and I'll remind you that we took 2 of 3 of the Mets this weekend.  Like I've said, this isn't about us beating the Mets like it's the World Series. This was about beating Mets fans... who really just needed to shut up and stop sounding so outrageously silly.   You needed humble pie last night.  That's all I'm saying.

The Yankees did win 2 of 3 against the Mets, and as much as I was rooting for the Yankees to win, I was much happier just letting it happen.  Last night the Mets did it to themselves.

Look, I respect the game of baseball and good times and moments by all players and teams. It's a great game.  What I can't stand is when a few fans get a taste of victory and then become incredibly nasty.  To me... you just need to sit back and watch them crumble once in a while.  And yes... it usually happens, much like this last series.

CC Sabathia started for the Yankees against the Mets Matt Harvey.  CC went 6 innings, gave up 5 hits and only 1 run. He struck out 7 and looked outstanding.  Harvey was dealing too, but the Yankees waited him out... that innings limit thing... dummies.  Once the Mets changed pitchers, things changed dramatically.

In the 6th, Carlos Beltran doubled and knocked in 2. That was followed by a 3 run Dustin Ackley homer. In the 7th, Headley walked with the bases loaded. In the 8th, Jacoby Ellsbury singled knocking in a run. Then Brian McCann did as well.

Greg Bird then cranked out a 3 run homer.  At this point, it was 11 runs to the Mets 1.  The Mets would score 1 more, but the Yankees would confidently shut the door on Queens and move to 2 1/2 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Baseball is a fascinating sport.  It changes with every pitch, with every at bat.  The Yankees in fact DID win 2 of 3 against the Mets proving just that.

Final: Yankees 11 - Mets 2
