SHUTTING DOWN CANO & THE MARINERS

I never hated Robinson Cano.  I was very aggravated though when he left New York for the money.  I felt as though he wasn't being smart for himself. I felt like it wasn't about loyalty, it was about big cash and pay days and all of that.  Now, every time the Yankees play them, I want them to beat the Mariners as a reminder that he made the wrong decision.  I hold grudges... that's me.  Last night, we won again, and life is good.

CC Sabathia was on the hill last night and pitched well... going 5.2 innings, giving up 9 hits but only 2 runs.  The issue was the Yankees couldn't get him a lead when he came out of the game and so, he left without the win. Justin Wilson did get the win however.

The run scoring for New York went like this. With the Mariners up 2-1, it was the 9th that things started to get interesting.  Stephen Drew came up and doubled in Chase Headley.  After that, the big moment happened and it was in the 11th when Garrett Jones homered knocking in 3 runs.  After that, the Mariners scored 1, but most importantly, it wasn't enough and Andrew Miller nailed down his 16th save of the season.

Oh... and Robinson Cano? 2-6 with an RBI and 2 strikeouts.  Not enough Robbie... not enough.

Final: Yankees 5 - Mariners 3
