LAWYERS TO MOVE FORWARD WITH CASE AGAINST AROD... MAYBE

It seems that the lawyers suing Alex Rodriguez cannot seem to get their paperwork in order. I don't know, but it just sounds weird to me. According to the New York Post, that's exactly what is happening.

The Law Firm of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani submitted a complaint in July about ARod's unpaid legal fees. However it now seems that Manhattan federal Judge William Pauley II is telling them they now have to submit a third complaint if they want it tried in federal court.

According to the Post:

"The original July version of the suit misstated Rodriguez lived in New York when he actually lives in Florida. Pauley also determined Gordon Rees, in an amended complaint, fixed that error, but failed to prove none of it's partners lived the same state as Rodriguez, so he demanded proof in the new filing that both sides were "citizens" of different states or he would not take the case.

"The third time will be a charm - or maybe it will be a strikeout," he warned."

So, wait... you're telling me that these lawyers haven't been able to do the simplest part of the job, which is to file the complaint correctly with accurate and complete information? It seems a little far-fetched. Are the lawyers really having that hard of a time getting this case to trial or is the Judge nitpicking? ARod's lawyers are looking to have the case moved to state court, instead of federal like Gordon Rees wants. According to ABC News, that ruling is pending.

Hopefully, this case can be in trial and over before Spring Training. Seems like unpaid bills would be an unhealthy distraction. We'll have to wait and see.
