JUSTICE FOR YOGI

There isn't much more to say about the burgulary at Yogi Berra Museum in Montclair, only to inform everyone that I'm spitting mad about it and that Yogi doesn't deserve this type of treatment. It's dispicable and us fans, as well as the authorites who want justice. So much for Yogi trying to do a good thing by opening the museum to educate fans young and old.  Some people just think they can do whatever they want.  We need to find these people and bring them to justice.

Yesterday there was a reward set for info leading to the crime.  According to NJ.com,

"Authorities are now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this morning’s theft of memorabilia from the Yogi Berra Museum at Montclair State University.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura said he hoped the cash reward would bring in tips..."

Today, the reward was upped to $15,000:

"Fontoura said anonymous donors have kicked in $10,000 for anyone who helps find the culprits in the brazen burglary at Montclair State University.

Fontoura initially offered a $5,000 cash reward on Wednesday, calling the museum an “iconic asset to our county.”

A community coming together right there... I like that. The items stolen were rings as well as the Don Larsen Perfect Game catcher's mitt.  The New York Post says:

"His 10 World Series rings were displayed together in a glass enclosure and are estimated to be worth at least $150,000 a piece with some netting $250,000. Several memorabilia dealers said his MVP awards have a value of between $100,000 to $250,000.

The burglars also made off with the glove Berra used to catch Don Larsen’s perfect World Series game in 1956."

There is no question... we need to get these sons of bitches.  It's not only shameful and disrespectful... it's unAmerican.  Yogi Berra served this great nation as well as played and won with the greatest baseball team in sports history.

We gotta get justice for Yogi.   Pass it on...
