According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, and this is just a quick report, the Yankees have asked for the medical records of Ervin Santana:
Sources: #Orioles, #Twins, #Yankees recently requested medical reports on free-agent RHP Ervin Santana. Yankees, however…

It's a good move to just to make sure he's in good shape, in case they want to make a move. But like I stated earlier, Rosenthal points out that Santana has a poor flyball record and may not work out in Yankee Stadium. That's probably why Kenny's a writer and not on the Yankees, because in the end, they still may want the guy, regardless of what Rosenthal says. Anyway, here's Ken's second tweet:
…were only doing diligence. Santana, a flyball pitcher, poor fit for #Yankees. #Twins, too, unlikely for Santana and other FA starters…

OK then. So, are the Yankees just going through the motions I guess? Maybe they'll ask him if he'll take a minor league contract? Maybe not? Who knows really. It is an important nugget though. We still need pitching.Look, truth be told, I'm not about to hammer Ervin Santana, I like the guy... plus, he follows BYB, what's not to like?
