THE BELTRAN SWEEPSTAKES RIGHT NOW

This is what we know.  We know the Yankees are interested and as I posted in HERE COMES CARLOS BELTRAN, Carlos Beltran and the Yankees are literally discussing years. Carlos wants 3 or more and the Yankees at this point are willing to offer 2.

Now I read a rumor on Facebook, probably from a fan that stated the Yankees offered 3 years and $63 million.  I have not been able to independently confirm this but there may be hard evidence that it happened. If you see it, post it in the comments below.  But for the BYB readers, let me give you my opinion on that offer:

Above is a crack pipe.  Anyone offering that to 37 year old Carlos Beltran may be smoking this exact pipe. Don't do drugs kids, it will kill you.

Now, as fellow BYB writer Mike O'Hara and I were discussing on Twitter, an offer of a few more bucks per year and keeping it at 2 would make much more sense if you're the Yankees:

I have no idea what will happen.  I do know this; there is talk now that the Seattle Mariners are very interested in Beltran as well, read HERE.  This is about to get interesting.

I believe that Beltran will end up in pinstripes. Ideally, it would happen today or tomorrow, just in time for Thanksgiving, but what the hell do I know, really.
